Troop Meeting This Week
This week we have three main activities. First, will be to hold our semi-annual election for Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (see below). Second will be to do the menu planning and duty roster for the Silver Comet Trail Campout. Third, will be to put on the Campfire Program the girls planned last week, which will include the swearing in of our new Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and to thank our outgoing Senior Patrol Leader for her service.
Troop Elections April 20
At our meeting on April 20th we will hold our semi-annual election for the Assistant Senior Patrol. The Assistant Senior Patrol Leader serves for six months in that position before becoming Senior Patrol Leader for six months. Scouts will need to prepare a campaign speech to deliver on the 20th. If you are interested in running for this position, please contact Mr. Taylor.
Upcoming Camping Trips
Our April camping trip will be Biking the Silver Comet Trail April 24-25. Meal planning and patrol duties on the campout will be assigned this Tuesday. If you are signed up to camp, but cannot make the meeting this week, please contact your Patrol Leader or Senior Patrol Leader as soon as possible.
Adults, if you can haul a trailer and would be willing to do so for the Silver Comet Campout this week, please let Mr. Taylor know. The folks who would normally do this are not going on this trip, and we need someone who can get the troop trailer to and from our campsite. Note, you don’t need to attend the campout, just be willing to drop it off on Saturday and pick it up Sunday.
In May we will be returning to Lake Allatoona Aquatics Base the weekend of May 14-16. We are planning to do a boating activity and have two canoes at our disposal to use for this campout. For the number of girls we typically have camping we would need need about seven total boats (five more than we have). If there are any available after the Canoeing MB class that day claims the ones they are using, we are free to use those, but if you have a canoe that is in good shape that you would be willing to lend to the troop for this event, please let Mr. Taylor know, so we can guarantee a spot in a boat for every Scout.
Summer Camp
If you have not already registered for camp but would still like to attend, please let Mr. Taylor know. We can register additional Scouts for camp until June, as long as there are still spaces available. More information can be found on our Summer Camp Information page.
Service Opportunities
