Troop Meeting

Hello Scouts!

At the meeting this Tuesday, we will be having the Golden Spoon! We will be meeting at the BBQ pits to cook outside. Make sure that everyone in your group is prepared and everyone knows what they’re bringing.

If you are going to be making something with a Dutch oven, make sure one of your group members can be there about 15 minutes early to get the coals set up. Additionally, if your dish is going to be messy, wear something underneath your Class A so you can change out of it.

Cub Scouts will be visiting this meeting, so make sure to be on your best behavior!

Finally, after the competition, we will be holding the ASPL elections. If you are planning to run, please prepare a speech beforehand.

Halloween Meeting — Monday October 30th

With Halloween falling on a Tuesday night the troop has voted to hold next week’s meeting on Monday night instead, to avoid interferring with other Halloween related activities. Please make a note. Details about the meeting will be announced next week.

November Campout

Our November Campout will be a Webelos focused campout at Cloudland Canyon State Park November 3-5. Registration Deadline October 20.

Some Scouts will be going up Friday night to setup and prepare for the Webelos Scouts arrival on Saturday. If you would like to go up Friday night please see Mr. Taylor.

Scout Days

The Atlanta Area Council is excited to offer several Scout Day experiences this fall! Families can catch a game or a show or both! Atlanta Hawks, Georgia Tech, Alliance Theater, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Merit Badge Opportunities

Atlanta Area Council offers several Merit Badge earning opportunities throughout the year.

  • The next Merit Badge Summit will be October 28, 2023 and will be “Stranger Things” themed, focusing on some of the more obsure Merit Badges. Registration is open.
